In Apple Music's new audio series Origin Stories, British artists revisit their hometown to discover how their musical journey began.
The interview series, hosted by Apple Music 1 hosts Dotty, Rebecca Judd and Matt Wilkinson, offers insight into where some of your favourite artists come from and the people who inspired them there, exploring how those places shaped them as the artists they are today.
Each artist featured in the series will also introduce listeners to key figures from their hometown who have influenced them since the beginning of their careers.
The new series will begin with six episodes, including Rebecca travelling with Birmingham rapper Mist to the Midlands bail house where he lived and made some of his early music.
Other episodes see Dotty explore Nottingham with rap duo Young T & Bugsy and revisit a local community studio, Rebecca visits the venue where she played her first show in the Irish capital, Dublin, with singer Jazzy, and Matt Wilkinson joins five-piece band Blossoms to revisit the Alma Lodge hotel in Stockport, where the band members once worked.
Rebecca also speaks to Becky Hill at her family home in Worcestershire and visits Marple in Greater Manchester with Pip Millett to hear how it all began for her.
Matt Wilkinson said: “Origin Stories is like nothing we've done before with Apple Music. It's been fantastic going back to the beginning with these artists and we found them so open because of the places we've been.”
“It was a real pleasure to be in Stockport with The Blossoms and follow their story from the very beginning when no one knew how famous they would become.”
