Rayo, Bauer Media Audio UK's new audio platform, is officially launched today, offering hundreds of curated playlists and a range of on-demand content.
Available on app, web and smart speakers, it brings together all of Bauer's audio and content that is unique and relevant to listeners.
Radio stations across Bauer Media's UK portfolio, including Absolute Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, KISS and Magic Radio, have launched an on-air campaign to promote the new platform to their audiences through a series of promotional trails and live reads.
Presenters including Ken Bruce, Tyler West and Penny Smith are also showcasing the Rayo app on the brand's social channels and the newly launched Rayo page.
New content is updated daily, with recommendations hand-picked by Bauer's team of DJs, presenters and special guests.
The app currently features exclusive performances from the Isle of Wight Festival over the weekend, including highlights from the Pet Shop Boys' set and a documentary presented by actor, comedian and Pet Shop Boys super fan Matt Lucas.
Speaking about the new app, Jordan Banjo and Perri Keery said: “We're constantly scrolling through our phones, switching between live radio and playlists, and Rayo now makes that a lot less hassle. With so many songs to choose from to suit any mood or moment, the best thing about Rayo is that all you have to do is press play.”
Ken Bruce added: “What I love most about radio, and one of the reasons I've been listening to it for so long, is that it appeals to so many different people in so many different ways. Whether you're looking to hear live music or new releases, searching for a specific song, or just want to hear something that fits your mood, radio is a truly fantastic medium.”
“The new Rayo app makes all of this so much easier, even for a tech-averse person like me. Give it a try! It might just become the new soundtrack to your day – provided your day includes a stop at PopMaster, of course!”
Also as part of the launch, Bauer's online station aggregator, Planet Radio, has rebranded as hellorayo.co.uk.
Simon Miciunka, CEO of Bauer Media Audio UK, said: “This is a pivotal moment for Bauer Media Audio UK – we have an incredibly strong brand portfolio and millions of passionate listeners, many of whom are increasingly turning to our stations for listening on their connected devices.”
“Rayo welcomes them into the audioverse and offers a vastly improved listening experience with a daily soundtrack that's simple, personalised and hand-picked by our team of DJs, presenters and special guests.”
“No matter your musical taste or mood, you can enjoy live and on-demand radio, from Popmasters with Ken Bruce to exclusive playlists like Super Kid Story and 00s Workout – there really is something for everyone.”
