Award-winning presenter Colin Murray has launched four new episodes of his 52nd podcast starring football legends Emile Heskey, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Sir Geoff Hurst and Pat Nevin.
In this unique format, 52 cards form the basis of the discussion, with each card carrying a question, meaning that no two interviews are the same and the interviewee decides what questions to ask.
The podcast is recorded in front of audiences at Grosvenor Casinos across the country, with sportsperson guests discussing their careers, joys, sorrows and personal lives.
Sir Geoff Hurst recorded this episode at Reading South Casino where he shares his thoughts on the attitude and performances of Southgate's current England team, as well as discussing the most influential person in his life, his father, and the influence he had on him from his childhood through his career.
Recorded live from Piccadilly Casino, Shaun Wright-Phillips talks about life under manager Fabio Capello, providing fascinating insights that confirm the fiery Italian manager's reputation, as well as hilarious anecdotes surrounding some of the most infamous moments from the fearsome former England manager's tenure.
In Emile Heskey's episode, recorded in Coventry, he talks about how he initially “loved athletics” and specialised in the long jump before embarking on his footballing career, and how money in the football industry has changed over the years.
Pat Nevin sat in front of the crowd at the Merchant City Casino and answered the question, “What two minutes of your career would you like to relive?” His answer went all the way back to playing in the European Under-18 final.
Colin Murray and Pat also talk about the worst penalty in history that “has stuck with Pat like a stench” and Pat speaks honestly and with humor about recovering from the incident.
