By the end of the week, two of Canada's G7 allies could have formed new governments on opposing political sides.
In Britain, the Labour Party is expected to end 14 years of Conservative rule on Thursday, while in France the hardline National Union party may come to power.

Is this a case of two countries moving in opposite directions, or is it the same anti-incumbency sentiment that has affected democracies around the world, of which Canada is no exception, and will countries once again find themselves voting for something rather than against parties and politicians they dislike?
