CHANEL Connects has launched its fourth season around the Venice Biennale, the world's most influential international art exhibition.
CHANEL's flagship arts and culture podcast brings together a diverse range of inspiring artistic voices from around the world to discuss the ideas shaping culture today.
Season four will feature South African painter and film director William Kentridge, French-Caribbean artist Julien Creuset, London-based gallerist Sadie Coles, Luxembourg-born actress Vicky Krieps, American designer Michael Lock and Frieze magazine editor Andrew Durbin.
Hosted by Global Head of Arts and Culture Yana Peel and Editor Penny Martin, “CHANEL Connects” explores the appeal of the Biennale and explains why it is the most important cultural event of the year.
Listeners will meet key figures from all walks of life – some of them close friends, others they're meeting for the first time – each of them challenging ways of thinking about the art world and the Venice Biennale, which runs until November.
Host Jana Peel comments: “Venice was built from the bottom of the sea with a deep belief in beauty and progress, making it the ideal backdrop for CHANEL Connects Season 4, filmed on-site during the 60th Venice Biennale.”
“We listen to the game-changers who set the agenda for the Biennale. We bring together leading artists, curators, gallerists, editors, designers and thinkers.”
“And through a series of intimate conversations, we will explore the big questions in culture: What are the most urgent ideas of the moment? Will new technologies innovate artistic practice? How will national pavilions foster international debate? Listen and connect now!”
From Benedetto Marcello at the Venice Conservatory to the magnificent halls of the Gothic Pisani Moretta, eight episodes, released weekly from July 3rd on all podcast platforms, will explore today's cultural currents.
