Spotify is enhancing its Outside Voices series with the launch of a new podcast celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion.
Hosted by Zakiya Gibbons, award-winning podcast host, producer, writer, and co-founder of audio directory POC, the Outside Voice podcast will spotlight BIPOC professionals who have built corporate and personal brand equity through programs that advance their communities.
“I'm so excited to be hosting Spotify's new podcast, 'Outside Voices,'” said Zakiya. “As an 'Outside Voice' myself, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Spotify to shine a light on BIPOC creators and marketing leaders.”
“These people have driven their businesses and industries forward throughout their illustrious careers, with stories that demonstrate the power of diversity, equity and inclusion when done right.”
Produced in partnership with Molten Heart, the first season will feature guests such as Xavier “X” Jernigan, Voice Behind AI DJ and Head of Cultural Partnerships at Spotify, Imani Ellis, Founder and CEO of CultureCon & The Creative Collective, Tiffany Warren, Executive VP and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Sony Music Group, and John Legend, chart-topping R&B icon, EGOT winner and senior coach on The Voice.
Guests talk about real-life experiences that have impacted their professional lives and the work they've done to make a difference at their companies.
“The Outside Voices podcast puts BIPOC experts on the front lines and lets them take the mic to tell everything from inspiring stories to everyday challenges — stories we all need to hear,” said Ty Comer, creative director of Spotify Advertising and executive producer of the Outside Voices podcast. “With this new podcast, we're thrilled to host these conversations on Spotify to inform and inspire the creative industry to work for change.”
