Amazon’s Wondery has signed an exclusive distribution and ad sales deal for the popular podcast “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.”
As part of the agreement, Wondery and Armchair Expert will jointly develop and produce two new podcasts and one livestream per year, and Wondery will also have a priority access option to additional new podcasts produced by Dax Shepard.
The deal, which begins on September 1st, includes rights to the entire back catalog of podcast content, distribution rights to the RSS feed, the release of the first video episodes, and the rights to create translated versions of the podcast for Wondery's global audience.
Additionally, new episodes will be available ad-free one week early to Wondery+ subscribers ahead of their general release. Wondery will also retain exclusive rights to develop, manufacture and distribute all Armchair Expert merchandise.

Now in its seventh year, Armchair Expert has published over 600 in-depth interviews with celebrities, artists, authors, scientists and global thought leaders.
Under the Armchair Umbrella Network, Dax, Shepherd and co-host Monica Padman host three weekly shows: celebrities on Mondays, experts on Thursdays and an interactive call-in show for “Armchery” listeners and fans every Friday.
This award-winning podcast launched in 2018 and has consistently topped the Apple Comedy Podcast charts and continues to be one of the most listened to podcasts in the U.S. and around the world.
Past guests include former President Barack Obama, Prince Harry, Hillary Clinton, Trevor Noah, Stacey Abrams, Bill Gates, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Jason Bateman, and regular guest Kristen Bell. The podcast has been featured in The New Yorker, Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, Vulture, and more.
