Yeardley Smith, the iconic voice of Lisa Simpsons on The Simpsons, and legendary Scottish detective Tom Wood have launched a new podcast, Beyond Recognition: The Ruxton Murders.
The podcast is a historical true crime documentary series based on the forensic bestseller 'Ruxton: The First Modern Murder Case' written by detective Tom Wood.
The six-part series explores the disappearance of an attractive young mother and her devoted maid in 1935, a death that became one of the most significant investigations the world had ever seen at the time.
On a crisp autumn morning in 1935, a brother and sister walking in the Scottish countryside stumbled upon dozens of packages containing dissected human remains. Who or what could have done this?
Now largely forgotten, the Luxton case captured worldwide attention, its gruesome details bringing to life an Agatha Christie mystery, shocking the public and testing the ability of police to keep the public safe.
The case led to the birth of groundbreaking forensic technology that would forever change the way violent crimes are solved.
“Beyond Recognition: The Ruxton Murders” comes from Audio 99, the podcast network from Yeardley, the creators of the hit series “Small Town Dicks.” The first episode is available now on the Small Town Dicks podcast feed and anywhere else you listen to podcasts.
Episodes are released every Friday, with the added bonus of Patreon subscribers being able to watch all episodes at once.
