“This is Powerful” is a new podcast hosted by British model, founder of the charity Stride Foundation UK and mindset coach Paul Sculfor.
The podcast celebrates Paul's 20th anniversary of sobriety and features candid, moving and powerful interviews with inspiring guests.
Season 1 will kick off on August 1 with an intimate solo episode featuring Paul, in which he shares behind-the-scenes anecdotes from his life and reveals details he's kept secret until now.
Episode one tells Paul's personal story, including fame, drug addiction and life after addiction, as he opens up to producers about childhood trauma and the less glamorous side of his career as a top model in the '90s.
Also releasing that day is the podcast's first-ever guest interview with DJ and award-winning author Fat Tony, who has been sober for over 17 years, but whose journey to sobriety was far from easy.
Alcoholism played a major role in his family during his childhood and later, as one of Britain's best-known DJs, he was surrounded by drink and drugs in his work.
Fat Tony, who opened up to Paul about the defining moments that shaped his life, from his experience of sexual abuse as a child to alcoholism and toxic relationships, is now the happiest he's ever been, thanks to therapy and recovery programs.
On quitting alcohol and drugs, Fat Tony said: “If I wasn't sober, I wouldn't have anything. Everything I do and everything I have comes from things I don't do. So the fact that I don't drink, don't party, don't do drugs means I have a great life.”
Other guests scheduled to appear on the show include:
Joe Langley talks about worshiping alcoholics, maintaining sobriety and the first time he tried ecstasy.
Ex-gangster Michael Emmett from London talks about his autobiography, 'Sins of Fathers,' holes in his soul and his spiritual awakening while sharing a cell with his father.
Michelle Heaton bravely shares her incredible journey to recovery: from fame with the band Liberty X to drinking vodka in the morning to a massive public apology.
Addiction and trauma therapist Anita Chacherama talks about her 36 years of sobriety and how she has helped thousands of people recover from addiction.
Jonny Graff talks about Lions Campus UK, the rehabilitation centre he co-founded, and his own experiences with addiction and recovery.
Andrea Taylor, a therapist with over 25 years of experience specializing in trauma, addiction, and couples therapy, is in recovery herself and has an incredible story to tell.
Yasmin shares her story of how she overcame what may seem an incredibly difficult battle with addiction.
Paul says: “This year I celebrate 20 years of sobriety and it's an incredible honour to share with you some of the inspiring and heartfelt conversations I've had over the past few months with close friends and experts on my new podcast, This Is Powerful.
“In my new show I want to deliver stories of hope and change, highlighting how life can be full and meaningful without drink or drugs.”
“This is Powerful with Paul Sculfor” will be available to stream from Thursday 1 August.
