Berkey Waterfilters UK-EU has confirmed that their PF-2 fluoride filters are completely free of aluminum leaching, as stated in this interview.
Here is the official answer from the Berkey manufacturer:
'' New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. (NMCL) is aware of several social media posts regarding Berkey PF-2TM Fluoride and Arsenic Reducing Elements showing the product and circulating NMCL in a negative light.
While NMCL wishes to challenge many of the points made in these articles, it is company policy for employees not to comment on third-party testing that NMCL did not approve, coordinate, or oversee. Instead, NMCL reiterates facts the company has already released in the past that address important issues.
The main concern being made in these posts is that aluminum is being added to the water by the Berkey PF-2TM Fluoride and Arsenic Reducing Element Media. This information misinterprets the scientific difference between pure aluminum and activated alumina/aluminum oxide (primary PF -2TM medium – not associated with negative health effects) and does not distinguish between the two. It may be due to possible tests.
This problem has occurred from time to time over the years and will likely continue to be caused by individuals with limited knowledge of the media used in Berkey PF-2TM fluoride and arsenic reducing elements. Or it may include the promotion of competing products by individuals with competing agendas.

PF-2 filters contain high quality activated alumina (AL2O3), which is currently the most efficient medium available for extracting fluoride from water.
They are completely harmless. The active material in PF-2 filters is alumina, and alumina is aluminum trioxide. This is a recognized method for removing fluoride, and alumina is an inert compound and therefore has no toxic effects.
Inert compounds do not chemically react with living tissue.
Alumina is not aluminum.
