Building on the success of the first eight episodes, two new episodes of the Navigating Now podcast are set to be launched.
This Duke of Edinburgh Award-winning podcast helps young people explore the answers to their big life questions.
Created in collaboration with seven Duke of Edinburgh Award winners aged 14-24 and award-winning production and promotion company Mags Creative, the two new episodes tackle a range of issues from the cost of living crisis and the pressures of adulting to global issues and how to know which news to trust.
Each episode is narrated by Elsie, a 16-year-old aspiring architect who has received both a Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, and hosted by three young people.
Together they will explore and comment on two big questions in each episode, listening to suggestions and advice from celebrities and experts.
Episode 1 features Abi (15) from Lisburn, Northern Ireland, Craig (22) from Berkshire and Katrina (22) from South London.
Our presenters, who are at different stages in life and from different parts of the UK, discuss two big questions: 'What is the cost of living crisis and what does it mean for us as young people?' and 'How can we deal with the pressures of growing up in the UK today?'
Guests will include broadcaster, online content creator and disability activist Lucy Edwards and chef and TV presenter Matt Tebbutt.
The second episode is hosted by O'ni (19) from Glasgow, Annika (16) from Bristol and Craig (22) from Berkshire, and they discuss two big questions: “How can we have our voice heard on global issues?” and “With so much going on in the world, which news should we trust?”
The programme also includes contributions from guests such as BBC presenter and foreign correspondent Clive Miley and broadcaster, author and journalist Vic Hope.
Narrator Elsie says: “I wanted to take part in the bonus podcast episode because it offers a unique opportunity to dig deep into a topic that really resonates with the hopes, fears and priorities of my generation – a topic that I now know, thanks to Youth Voices 2024, is a common concern and aspiration for other young people too.”
“Participating has allowed me to share my opinions and insights on widely debated issues with a wider audience, enriching the podcast experience for listeners.”
Two new episodes of “Navigating Now” will be available on all podcast platforms on Wednesday, August 28th.
