As the Toni & Ryan Podcast celebrates its third anniversary and more than 700 episodes, hosts Toni Lodge and Ryan John have signed a new multi-year, multi-channel deal with Acast.
The hugely popular Australian podcast was previously exclusive to Spotify.
The move to Acast means “Toni & Ryan” will be available on all podcast platforms as well as full-length video episodes on YouTube for the first time, something fans have been hoping for since hilarious clips began making the rounds on social media.
The podcast already has over 600,000 subscribers on the video platform and receives over 3 million downloads per month from around the world, including the UK, where there is a strong and highly engaged audience of ‘TARPers’ (Toni and Ryan podcasters).
Acast Australia and New Zealand creator network director Guy Scott-Wilson said: “We’ve been huge fans of Toni and Ryan from the beginning and have supported them from the sidelines as they bring their unique format to audiences around the world.
“They are absolute masters of the craft of podcasting, so it's no wonder they've resonated so deeply with audiences all over the world.
“Acast has a presence in 15 countries around the world, and we're excited to partner with Toni and Ryan to continue to grow our global community of TARPers, maximise commercial opportunities across audio and social media, and increase the relevance of commercial messaging to local audiences.”
Toni said: “We’ve had an incredible two years as part of the Spotify team and are grateful to everyone we’ve worked with.
“The move to Acast is really exciting for our small company and we couldn't be happier to join forces with them. We love producing podcasts and serving TARP users around the world, so the best part is getting to continue doing this work.”
Ryan added: “It's an honour to have offers from Spotify and major radio stations, but we have our own little team and our own little studio and we're really happy being independent creators doing our own little thing.”
“Acast is already driving incredible revenue from podcasts and from now on they'll be managing the advertising and sponsorship and I'll get to keep sitting opposite Toni and having a good laugh.”
Toni and Ryan's podcast will release episodes daily and will be available on all podcast platforms from Monday, with a video version available on YouTube from September.
