Audio Always launches its latest compelling true crime documentary podcast, Head Number 7.
The series, available exclusively on Wondery+, follows the case of Cedric Lodge, the former mortuary director at Harvard Medical School, who was accused of shocking and brutal crimes.
“Head Number 7” explores how Cedric Lodge, once a respected figure in the Harvard University community, became the mastermind behind a network of strange human artifact collectors, and began making a profit selling body parts online.
The story is told by presenter and forensic genealogist Professor Tuli King, who specialises in unlocking the secrets held by human remains and solving ancient cold cases.
Dr King, the presenter of programmes such as BBC's “DNA Family Secrets with Stacey Dooley”, is famous for solving “the biggest forensic DNA case in history” – the identification of the body of King Richard III, who was found buried in a car park in the city of Leicester.
Tuli explores the real people behind the headlines – those who donated their bodies for science only to have them sold for profit – and how Lodge's actions not only violated the trust of donors and their families, but also raised ethical questions about who really owns our bodies after we die.
Through interviews, expert insights and investigations, this podcast not only tells the stories of crimes that made headlines around the world, but also explores society's relationship with death, dying and society. Hear about the bodies that made cars safer and ask tough questions about human remains in museums today.
Head Number 7 is available ad-free exclusively with a Wondery+ subscription on the Wondery app, and is also available on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
