London Podcast Festival is making further additions to its line-up and will see the return of Podcast Maker Weekend.
Taking place in the heart of Kings Cross' cultural district from 5th to 15th September, the event will feature previously announced live shows from podcast stars Jameela Jamil and Tom Allen, as well as a host of new events including Frank Film Club, co-hosted by Game of Thrones stars Maisie Williams, Hannah Marie Williams and Lori Roberts, and the first-ever live edition of chart-topping podcast Dish from Waitrose, hosted by presenter Nick Grimshaw and Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett.
These shows join previously announced shows such as Like Minded Friends with Tom Allen and Suzi Raffel, If I Speak… with Ash Sarkar and Moya Lothian-McLean, popular US cooking podcast The Sporkful and The History Hotline.
Also scheduled for broadcast will be “The Guilty Feminist” with special guest Dawn O'Porter, The Empire Film Podcast, “Things Musicians Don't Talk About” with special guest musician Ayana Witter-Johnson, and comedian and podcaster Joan McNally will also be appearing as a special guest on Jameela Jamil's “I Weigh…”
Following a successful inaugural year in 2023, Podcast Maker Weekend, a series of classes and workshops aimed at anyone wanting to get their feet wet in the world of podcasting, will return to the festival.
This year’s programme will include workshops such as ‘Mics – Back to Basics’ by Lisa Hack, ‘Making A Comedy Podcast’ by Suchandrika Chakrabarti and ‘Interview Success Secrets’ by Sam Mbatha.
Also featured throughout the weekend will be “The Importance of Ethics in Podcasting” by Jaja Muhammad and “Marketing Made Simple: How to Reach the Best Podcast Audience on a Budget” by Becky Lamb-Pritchard.

Thursday 5th – Over the Top Under the Radar: Academic and award-winning journalist Gary Young and communications guru Carys Afoko provide weekly critiques of news that is either over-reported or completely under-reported. Sat 7th – The Empire Film Podcast: Chris Hewitt, Helen O'Hara, James Dyer and their extremely crafty colleagues talk film and speak with fantastic guests. Sat 7th – Bust or Trust: A Kids' Mystery Podcast: A podcast for inquisitive kids who want to uncover the truth behind some of the world's most fascinating mysteries, from Big Foot to the lost city of Atlantis. Sat 7th – Things Musicians Don't Talk About: Musicians Hattie Butterworth and Rebecca Toal join special guest Ayanna Witter-Johnson for a radically honest delve into the lives and experiences of musicians. Sat. 7th – The Allusionist: Sat. 7th – In Her Defence: A forensic analysis of a true crime documentary: The journalists of the hit Canadian true crime documentary series In Her Defence premiere the new season and take you behind the scenes. Sun. 8th – The Guilty Feminist: Catch up on the London Podcast Festival episode of The Guilty Feminist with comedian Deborah Frances-White, co-host Jess Fostekew and special guest Dawn O'Porter. Sun. 8th – Wrestle Me: Mark Haynes and Pete Donaldson bring back their funny, insightful wrestling podcast, just because you asked. Sun. 8th – Secretly Incredibly Fascinating: Join Alex Schmidt, Katie Goldin and special guests as we dig deep into the history, science, lore and surprises that make everyday things secretly incredible and fascinating. Thursday 12th – Cooking from Waitrose: The chart-topping podcast's first live show, hosted by presenter Nick Grimshaw and Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett. Thursday 12th – Black Prose: Journalist Yolanthe Fawehinmi interviews Yomi Adegoke to discuss cultural bias and the impact of black authors on literature. Thursday 12th – Jameela Jamil's Personal View: Provocative conversation and insights from the celebrated actress and activist, joined by special guest comedian Joanne McNally. Thursday 12th – Memory Lane with Kelly Godliman and Jen Brister: Jen Brister and Kelly Godliman look through old photos of their guests to find out what they were up to in life at Kings Place. Friday 13th & Saturday 14th – Three Bean Salad: Mike Wozniak, Henry Packer and Benjamin Partridge bring their unique humor to the stage after three sold-out shows at last year's festival. Friday 13th – Plumbing the Death Star: Joel Dasher and Jackson Bailey bring their award-winning podcast Plumbing the Death Star to the stage for the first time without Joel Zammit. Friday 13th – Frank Film Club: Film lovers and filmmakers, join actor Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), casting director Hannah Williams and filmmaker Lori Roberts for the first-ever live episode of Frank Film Club. Sat 14th – Mixed Up: Hosts Nicole Ocran and Emma Slade Edmondson explore belonging and identity through the mixed race experience, digging into personal stories and social issues. Sat 14th – The Sporkful: The hit American cooking podcast hosted by Dan Pashman comes to the UK for a live recording. Sat 14th – Tommy's Brownload: One of the most listened to British Asian podcasts, known for its humour and cultural insight. Sat 14th – The Greatest Generation: A Star Trek comedy podcast loved by fans old and new, hosted by Ah Harrison and Adam Planica. Sat 14th – Beef and Dairy Network: Benjamin Partridge's award-winning comedy podcast returns with a brand new live edition. Sat 14th – The Weekly Planet: Join James Clement (aka Mr Sunday Movie) with special guests Jackson Bailey and Joel Dasher for a special The Weekly Planet x Plumbing The Death Star live event. Sat 14th – Murder Ain't Easy: Three of the UK's most successful independent true crime podcasters (Adam from UK True Crime, Paul from The True Crime Enthusiast and Mike from Murder Mile) bring you an evening of true crime documentaries based on the 1000+ cases they have covered. Sat 14th – Crowley Time with me, Tom Crowley: The live debut of a cavalcade of Tom Crowley sketches and characters. A brand new original story entitled “The DiPoni Contingency”. Sunday 15th – If I Speak…: Two of the UK's sharpest young journalists, Ash Sarkar and Moya Lothian MacLean, separate the personal from the political as they tackle listener dilemmas and comment on the frustrations of modern life, with special guest Yomi Adegoke. Sunday 15th – The History Hotline: Hosted by Deanna Lincock, this is a frank discussion about black history and its impact on the world today. Sunday 15th – Crushed with Margaret Cabourn Smith: In this special live London Podcast Festival episode, Margaret chats to former News Quiz presenter, actor and all-around great guy, Miles Jupp.
