British actors Kingsley Ben-Adir and Erin Doherty will star in Another Life, 2023 BritList writer Cara Marie Sweet's debut feature for Audible.
Carla Marie Sweet is a Brit List-nominated British-American actor and writer whose work has appeared on BBC, Netflix and Hulu.
A feminist, dystopian page-turner, Another Life tackles the question of what happens when something seemingly good falls into the wrong hands.
The story revolves around the controversial “External Womb Programme”, which provides women with the technology to outsource their pregnancies to machines. While many women have welcomed it as revolutionary, others are wondering what this disruptive new technology will mean for motherhood – and the future of the world.
After losing her parents in a car accident, Lucy marries James, who is kind, loyal and dependable – a stark contrast to her charismatic and unsettling ex-girlfriend, Violet.
Lucy aspires to a thriving acting career while James wants to settle down and have a baby, so when they discovered the external womb program it seemed like they could have it all.
Along the way, twists and turns abound, including the return of an old flame, a corrupt government rising to power, and groundbreaking technology falling into the wrong hands.
