The long-running show “The Media Podcast” is relaunching today as “The Media Club,” hosted by media consultant Matt Deegan.
The podcast has been releasing episodes in various formats since 2006, making it one of the UK's longest running shows. Media correspondents and practitioners come together to discuss the week's media news.
The rebranding with a new name is to reflect that many of the show's viewers work in the media industry and should feel like participants as well as viewers.
The revamped show is also expanding its distribution to include full video episodes on YouTube, content on X, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, a website and newsletter.
Producer Matt Hill said: “We've always had feedback and input from listeners working in all areas of media, from graduates to channel managers. With the relaunch we wanted to better reflect the whole community and we think The Media Club achieves that.”
In the first episode, Matt Deegan joins Deadline investigative editor Jake Cantor and Radio Academy's Aradhna Tayyar Leach.
Presenter Matt Deegan said: “Every week it's a privilege to speak to media professionals and people who create fantastic content for their audiences, whether it's broadcast, print or digital platforms. Media touches entertainment, business and politics, so it's great to cover it all on Media Club.”
The podcast is produced by Rethink Audio, the rebrand was led by podcast marketing agency Podcast Discovery, and recorded on PodShop.
Media Club is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music or the Media Club website . You can also watch it on YouTube .
