UK music and audio pioneer Cambridge Audio is launching “Mic Check”, a video series produced in collaboration with independent music retailer Rough Trade.
Set against the backdrop of Rough Trade stores, the series features fun, intimate interviews with artists and bands before they play in-store.
The first two episodes feature British singer-songwriter Nilüfer Yanya and instrumental quartet Los Bitchos, exploring their musical tastes, sharing their favourite records and occasionally chatting about trashy dinosaur parks and '80s Miami.
Since May 2024, Cambridge Audio has been Rough Trade's audio partner, distributing music through its stores in London (East and West), Bristol, Liverpool and Berlin.
The Alva ST turntable, along with the Alva Duo phono preamplifier, is used exclusively at the Rough Trade listening station.
Following the successful launch of its Made By Music podcast in 2023, Cambridge Audio says Mic Check will further reinforce what sets them apart from other audio companies: they're not just sound engineers, they're also true music lovers who connect listeners emotionally to the tunes they love.
Each Cambridge product is designed, tuned and engineered at Melomania, the company's London-based music venue and headquarters.
Cambridge's portfolio already has seven new products due to arrive in 2024, including its first over-ear headphones, its first wireless streaming speakers, and collaborations with DeLorean, The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess, and fashion brand Hikerdelic.
You can watch all episodes of Mic Check on the Cambridge Audio YouTube channel.
