Multi-award winning independent radio production company Made in Manchester has launched a new podcast 'Never Mind My Bollocks'.
The show aims to demystify the vasectomy experience and provides a platform for men to share their stories and insights.
MIM Deputy Creative Director Kurt Brooks hosts the series alongside his friend James McConnell.
This new podcast gives a voice to men who have had or are about to undergo a vasectomy, addressing the complex emotions and experiences that come with the procedure.
Kurt and James share their personal journey, interview others who have had the procedure, and speak with experts to provide a comprehensive view of the vasectomy process .
James says: “A vasectomy sounds scary, so it's no wonder no one talks about it. We want to change that.
“We want to demystify the preparation, procedure, and recovery process so people can make an informed decision about whether a vasectomy is right for them. You might even get some laughs along the way. Frozen peas are ready!
Kurt added: “Before having a vasectomy in 2019, the only time I had heard about vasectomy in the media was on an episode of Family Guy, but the reputation of vasectomy was not very good. There wasn't.
“Everything else I found was too medically focused or perpetuated myths about your manhood post 'The Snip.' So James and I , decided it was time to do something about this.
“Although we are not urologists, we both have real-world experience that we would have loved to hear before going under the knife. We hope our listeners feel the same way. Good luck.”
By sharing real stories and expert insights, Kurt and James hope to break down the stigma and provide valuable information for those considering a vasectomy.
MIM Creative Director Ashley Byrne commented: “As we approach our 20th birthday, we are once again breaking and challenging taboos with Never Mind My Bollocks, as well as our other richly thought-provoking social docs and podcasts Bisexual Branch.”
This podcast is available on all podcast platforms, and the first episode is available now.
