Outrage + Optimism, one of the leading independent climate podcasts, has launched a new miniseries titled “How to Live a Good Life in the Climate Crisis.”
The show is hosted by Christiana Figueres and Tom Rivet-Karnak, who are famous for their contributions to the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, and sustainable economics expert Paul Dickinson. A weekly guide for those who want to understand the climate conversation.
Over five episodes, the hosts explore questions about climate change from “Should I Get on a Plane?” “Is it okay to eat meat?” “Should I have children?” “What kind of career should I pursue?”
This series focuses on our role as individuals, while also calling on governments, businesses and institutions to support complementary systemic change.
In each episode, Christiana, Tom, and Paul tackle one big problem while sharing their personal stories, guilt, struggles, and the latest research and analysis.
There are no right or wrong answers or secret ingredients to building the perfect life in a changing climate. Instead, the series tackles big issues and helps listeners reflect on their choices without judgement, while also providing space for them to “feel” what it means to survive the “climate crisis.” It serves as a starting point to open.
Cristiana Figueres says: “We’re excited to share this new series with you, where Tom, Paul and I tackle the big questions from our listeners that keep us up at night.
“We talk, we confide, and sometimes we disagree, about issues like flying, having kids, what to eat. We bare our souls and exchange stories. Share your deepest thoughts and explore the latest insights.
“There are no quick answers, so you may be more confused at the end of the series than you were at the beginning. But we hope this helps us live our best lives amidst the climate crisis. We hope it will be a useful starting point for thinking about everyday dilemmas.”
Outrage + Optimism is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and all major podcast platforms. The new mini-series “How to Live a Good Life in the Climate Crisis” starts today, Thursday, October 3rd.
