The Hardest Part is a new podcast that explores the untold stories behind some of the most emotionally, creatively and technically challenging songs ever written.
Each week's episode, hosted by Kieron Banerji, offers an intimate glimpse into the struggles and triumphs artists face when creating their most personal songs.
Kieron is a London-based producer and engineer with extensive experience in the music, broadcast, entertainment and media industries. He has worked with both Grammy and Academy Award winners.
Series 1 features a line-up of artists including Lauren Kramer, Rosie Rowe, Los Bitchos, Morgan Harper-Jones, Our Girl, Sophie and more.
“Hardest Part” reveals the obstacles musicians overcome to bring their songs to life. Whether it's writing the first song on a difficult second album, overcoming a creative block, tapping into a painful memory, grappling with personal shame, or finding the courage to share your work with the world. Maybe. These are songs that pushed artists to their limits emotionally, technically, and creatively.
Each episode ends with an exclusive live performance of the featured song, giving fans a rare, raw experience of hearing the track in a very personal way.
Kieron Banerji said: “'The Hardest Part' is not just about the songs, but the stories, struggles and triumphs that led to them.
“We are honored to bring raw, unfiltered conversations to light, connect with each artist on a personal level, and share what it takes to push forward and create something meaningful.
“Producing these sessions has been an incredibly rewarding process, allowing us to connect with the artists in a whole new way, and we can’t wait for listeners to join us on the journey to the heart of these records. ”
From creative agency and content network Palm Tree Island, the first episode of The Hardest Part, featuring Rochdale-born singer-songwriter Morgan Harper-Jones, is now available on podcast platforms including Apple and Spotify. It is also available for viewing on YouTube.
