The Bunny Trap is a new 10-part investigative series that follows a multi-year investigation into troubling allegations in the glamor industry.
The podcast, hosted by investigative journalist Ellie Flynn, investigates allegations against self-proclaimed “Playboy photographer” Luis Gomez, who allegedly used his position to abuse numerous models.
Ellie Flynn is known for her work exposing exploitation and abuse, and this podcast is the latest in Novel's long-form narrative podcast series.
After receiving tips from about a dozen British models who had allegedly suffered abuse at the hands of Gomez, Flynn and the Novel team began a thorough investigation that took several years.
The result is a chilling investigation into allegations of power, manipulation and predation in a largely unregulated industry.
In addition to research, the series also tracks the experiences of those who have come forward.
When glamor model Emily first questioned her harrowing experience during a photoshoot with Luis Gomez, it set off a chain of events that led to other women claiming that she had suffered similar abuse. We will connect with each other.
Together, they confronted Gomez to expose what they claimed was a pattern of exploitation. Digging deeper, Flynn reveals how Luis Gomez became famous in the glamor industry, and why so many models are attracted to him despite growing rumors surrounding his behavior. It became clear that he wanted to work with him.
The Bunny Trap follows Flynn's investigation, from discovering how the glamor industry works to investigating allegations of abuse.
The series uncovers allegations of sexual and financial exploitation, fraud and manipulation, but is ultimately a story of courage and unity.
Ellie Flynn commented: “This investigation has been one of the most challenging and intense experiences of my career. From the first tip, we are entering a world where the stakes are incredibly high. I knew that.
“Over the years, we have uncovered heartbreaking and sometimes horrifying stories, but above all, this is a story about the courage of those who have come forward. Bunny Trap is as much a story as it is ours. It’s also a story, and I’m proud to help them tell it.”
“'The Bunny Trap' is a powerful example of long-form investigative journalism that requires immense courage from both Ellie and the women who shared their stories,” said Novel CEO Craig Strachan.
“This series is more than just a podcast, it's a window into a hidden part of the glamor industry that most people don't know about. We hope it sparks important conversations.”
The first two episodes will be available on October 29th, and then every Tuesday on all major podcast platforms.
