Extreme: Peak dangers explore the true story of 11 climbers lost their lives during the second most tall mountains in the world.
It is an emotional story of human endurance, risk, and pursuit of extraordinary issues.
Sitting on the border between China and Pakistan, K2 is a perfect pyramid that penetrates the clouds. Some say it looks like a picture of a child's mountain, but this terrible peak is other than the child's play.
In August 2008, about 30 climbers made a history and competed to reach the top of the world's second highest mountain. For two days, 11 of those climbers will lose their lives.
This is a story about what happened in what was spoken by the surviving people.
Norwegian newlywed Cecesley Scopgs and her husband, Rolf Bay, love the mountain mountain as they love each other. In the summer of 2008, after failing to try the summit three years ago, when they decided to return to K2, they left for a honeymoon, just like others.
Participating in them is Eric Meyer, Chairing Dorier, a teammate of American and famous climbing shelpa.
There is also a professional adventurer Wilco Van Louen. He had previously been seriously injured in K2, but he came back again and decided to reach the top.
What began as a dream, the catastrophic avalanche is scattered on a dangerous slope of K2, so it quickly turns into a nightmare.
The rescue mission for life and death begins immediately. But who will be saved before time runs out?
It features direct testimony from surviving climbers from every corner of the world, such as Norway, the United States, Nepal, South Korea, Sweden, Pakistan, Serbia, and the Netherlands.
Natalian Marman Pettrazera, a historian, pod caster, fitness expert and extreme series 1 host, will guide you in this eight -part series.
BBC's sound and novel, extreme: peak dangers are the story of adventure, risks against death, love and passion, and the center of being alive.
Daniel Clarke, editor of BBC Radio 4, said:
“Peak dangers are a unique insight that is directly told about what will happen when you take on one of the most strictest challenges on the earth.
“It is an impossible way to make you a mountain, Cecil, Lolf, and the rest of the groups of the group climbing K2 on that day.
“You are away from the series, knowing why people do this extraordinary and extreme things, and how deep they will be.”
Host Natalia Eheman Pettrsella states:
“As a historian of sports and culture, as an enthusiastic exerciseer, I am far from my personal experience, but I was intrigued by the physical pursuit that was intertwined with my broader research. 。
“Our show is a 2008 unfortunate luck through the voices and experiences of those who survived there to use their memories and archive audio to rebuild the stories of those who lost their lives on that day. The 2008 K2 K2 expedition is a fierce emotional story.
Furthermore, we have been working hard to reach men and women at the highest peak in the world for centuries, or perhaps, probably, political, economic and social forces. Initia deep into the history and political, economic and social forces across the borders of mountain climbing. The incredible risk of this bold effort. “
The full series is currently available in the British BBC sound. The episode will be released weekly even if you get a podcast on Monday.
