One month after the new Spotify Partner Program, the early results show significant consumption and revenue growth for Spotify eligible video podcasters.
Since December 2024, the top 20 video podcasts eligible for the Spotify Partner Program have increased by an average of over 24%.
Overall, Spotify's video podcast consumption has increased by more than 20% since the program was launched.
The Spotify Partner Program increased its payments to creators by more than 300% this January compared to January 2024.
It quickly produced impressive results as the latest revenue stream for the registered show. Hundreds of podcast creators have surpassed $10,000 in monthly revenue, and the top earners have improved to six in the first month alone.
In just a month, Modern Wisdom, a top video podcast hosted by Chris Williamson, has seen Spotify consumption rise by 36%, leading to a massive first payment from the Spotify Partners program.
The mental health podcast, hosted by Devorah Roloff, has expanded consumption nearly six times since adding the video last June. Revenues from Spotify are also rising. The show won over $17,000 in the first month of its Spotify Partner Program.
The slightly funny gamecast, a video game podcast, has added videos to Spotify over the past two months, leading to over $10,000 in SPP revenue for the January show, expanding to the highest YTD ever in spending time.
A Spotify spokesman said: “As video consumption continues to accelerate with Spotify, we aim to help creators gain more opportunities with video engagement on the platform.
“The Spotify Partner Program creates multiple revenue streams, including viewer-driven payments from Spotify Premium Video Engagement and AD monetization on Spotify Free and other podcast platforms.
“This flexibility gives creators more control over their business, helping them adapt to changing audiences for their growing podcasts while increasing revenue.”
