A new four-part podcast series has been launched, exploring the accusations of Manchester City, a football during exams, one of the most important sports litigations in history.
From BBC Radio 5 Live, hosted by famous BBC news anchor and lifelong fan Clive Myrie, The Boxset is one of the most successful from the club facing an 8-1 defeat to Middlesbrough. It tells the story of the rise of the city. Teams from around the world.
Additional responsive episodes follow, providing a detailed analysis of the final verdict announced.
Clive explores the club's history and focuses on the change in ownership from former exile who bought the club for £200 million in 2008 and former Thai Prime Minister Tak Cincinna Watra to Sheikh Mansour.
He has seen the rise of the club and is marked by major signatures like the major trophies that won under Brazilian star Roviño and managers Roberto Mancini and Pep Guardiola.
Clive is also investigating the ongoing legal battle with 115 accusations against the club due to data leaks reported by German newspaper Der Spiegel.
Host Clive Miley said: “You will have a hard time finding someone who hasn't heard of Manchester City or one of the players in recent years, but there is a lot of information people don't know about this prominent case.
“I explore the history of the club, the complexity of the accusations, and the response to the final verdict of this whole series.”
Clive has been working with former Manchester City player Nedum Onuoha, Der Spiegel data journalist Christoph Winterbach, sports lawyer Nick De Marco, sports broadcaster and producer Emily Brobyn, and secretary Kevin Parker of the official Manchester City FC Supporters Club. I listen to more than one episode.
This one-off special series tells the backstory of a club that has won everything on the pitch but risks losing a monumental lawsuit from the pitch.
Soccer during the trial: Manchester City rates are available at BBC Sound starting today, Thursday, February 20th.
