Robert Nicholson has been appointed director of the independent producer Whissdown Productions program.
Nicholson, a senior editor based in his Berlin office, will lead the company's factual slate, providing new stories and formats for European broadcasters and podcast platforms.
Indie, which also has production bases in London and Glasgow, has been a leading supplier of BBC Radio for over 20 years, reaching you for Radio 4's feedback, reunion and BBC World Services.
He was also produced for Audible and won the Podcast of the Year at the British Podcast Awards, a press play for the Audio Porn series.
Nicholson's work with reporter Nick Wallis, starting in 2020, has exposed many twists and turns in the post office IT scandal for the award-winning series The Great Post Office Trial, and he also leads a team of producers working on Politico's Westminster Insider.
“Robert played a key role in strengthening our journalism reach and impact,” says David Perth, managing director of Whistledown. “Independent production companies have become a major force in UK audio production. We know that Bob shares the whistleblower vision for the future expansion of the sector.”
