Greg James joined the Crossed Wires team as creative director and became the business co-owner.
He joined Alice Levine (my father was a co-host who wrote porn and British scandals). Dino Sofos (Founder and CEO of Persephonica) and James O'hara (Co-Founder, Tramlines and Day Fever) helped the festival grow.
In addition to the announcement of the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, Greg is co-host of the Taelenders Podcast and has been released weekly for over seven years along with international cricketer James Anderson and guitarist Felix White from Ex-The Maccabees.
Greg said:
“It's such a great thing, so it's even a festival about podcasts. Last year, seeing what all the fuss was, I quickly fell in love with its ambition and mission statement, bringing the biggest name in the industry to Sheffield, but then finding the next generation of on and off-air stars.”
“We've got a lot of effort into the world,” said Alice Levine, co-founder of Crossed Wires.
“Live events like this are not a country. They provide free access to the finest quality talent after a combination of smash hit podcasts, after a show, after a fan meet and greeting.
“We really feel like we're growing something very special and we're very excited to see Greg on our team.”
Dino Sofos, co-founder of Crossed Wires, added:
We were unable to seek a more talented, ambitious, and well-connected creative director to help raise the festival in the coming years. He has already been on a fantastic show at the festival this summer and can't wait to be announced in the coming weeks. Look at this space! ”
The festival will return to Sheffield for its second year between Friday, July 4th and Friday, June 6th. Two headline actions have been announced so far.
Sheffield City Hall sold out on Saturday, July 5th at the only live show of 2025 as they had sex with DJ Jordan North and etiquette expert William Hanson.
No fish-like things will be on stage at Sheffield City Hall on Sunday, July 6th.
Other names in the lineup will be announced on Tuesday, April 15th.
