Friends and former rival TV bosses Peter Fincham and Jimmy Mulville are hosting Insider: The TV Podcast', a brand new 10-episode series from anticipated TV.
Peter and Jimmy are two of the most influential figures on British television, and in this podcast we share their insights, analysis and lifelong showbiz experiences.
Peter Finchum joined Talkback in 1985 and became Managing Director the following year. His executives have produced many of the biggest shows, including not caring about Today (BBC 2), Brass Eye (Channel 4), Alan Partridge (BBC 2), Buzzcock (BBC 2), Pony (Channel 4), Daari G Show (Channel 4).
Talkback has had many successes in other genres, including dramas such as Lost Prince (BBC One), Sword of Honor (Channel 4), Fact/De facto entertainment programs including Grand Design (Channel 4) and Apprentice (BBC One).
Talkback was sold to Fremantle in 2000, and two years later Peter became CEO of Talkback Thames, responsible for the production of a wide range of Thames, including X-Factor and British Got Talent (ITV), as well as the long-running drama series The Bill (ITV).
In 2005, Peter became a BBC One controller and ITV TV director in 2008, staying until 2016.
On the BBC, One Peter launched one show directly and directed the entertainment revival with shows such as how to solve problems like Maria.
Success in Peter's time on ITV includes Downton Abbey, Broadchurch, the right adults, Mrs. It includes fact programs such as Biggs, Cilla, and Long Lost Family, as well as ITV2 shows such as The Only Way Is Essex.
Since 2017 he has been a promising co-CEO, with Clarkson's Farm and Alma being an independent production company that makes things that are not common.
Jimmy Mewville was one of the founders of Hat Trick Productions in 1986 and has since grown into one of the nation's leading producers of comedy, drama and entertainment. Jimmy's list of hit shows includes Have I Got News for You (broadcast in series 69 Now), Father Ted, Delhi Girls, Out Numbers and Episodes.
In the US, Hat Trick was the first British series to be recreated on American network television by British producers, launching its line in 1997, which was run on ABC for seven years anyway.
In 1999 he received the BAFTA Award for his outstanding creative contributions to television. Jimmy is a Fellow of the Royal Television Association and recently earned his Honorary Doctorate from the University of Liverpool.
Before moving to television in 1982, he produced for BBC Radio, where he developed and produced the award-winning Radio Active.
The podcast includes personal stories, insider anecdotes, and expert analysis of the trends, victories and controversies that have shaped television over decades.
Speaking about the release, Fincham said: “You can expect to hear everything you can't read in a broadcast magazine with the new podcast. I look forward to analyzing the state of the industry with him every week and sharing my experience working on television.
Mulville adds: “I say there are two things I don't want to be made with sausages and TV. Peter Finchum and I have seen how much television is made.
