Blanchard House, an independent, women-led documentary production company, hired two acclaimed producers, Alex Gatenby and Maddie Hickish.
It plans to release five new shows this year in partnership with major distribution platforms.
Maddie Hickish brings over a decade of experience in creating story-driven podcasts for Audible, Iheart, The BBC and more.
Her time to purchase her audible series was praised as “persuasively well told” (Sunday Times), and Radioman was described as “dazzling” (Guardian), chasing Boaz Manor as “a seductive tale” (independence).
Alex Gatenby is a veteran journalist and producer with a background in television documentaries. She is also interested in long form audio storytelling and has marked her with podcasting.
Her latest podcast series, Sea of Lies, is a global chart topper, reaching number one in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Alex has produced works for the CBC, BBC, Channel 4, Guardian and Telegraph, reporting topics ranging from the Russian HIV/AIDS epidemic to the cold case murders and the cons of high stakes.
“We've been working hard to get the most out of our lives,” said Rosie Pye, creative director and co-founder. “It's a great boost to attracting two extremely talented individuals after such an exciting and tough year. We look forward to starting a great show together with our amazing partners.”
