Braeden Sorbo is a 23-year-old actor, writer and cultural commentator. He is a strong supporter of traditional masculinity and family values in response to progressive liberalism, which he sees as destroying the West. He is part of a new generation of young Christian conservative voices emerging from the United States.
His new book, Embracing masculinity: Lifting men in a world that pushes them downdrawing a vivid picture of the world where hard work, responsibility, and independence become artefacts of the past and replaced by a culture of qualifications and victims. He argues that today's culture mislabels strength as “toxic”, leadership as “oppressive”, and that many men feel lost or embarrassed by their natural instincts.
From our conversations it is clear that the world does not need less masculinity. It needs a more appropriate kind, and it presents a challenge to all of us, both men and women.
Braden was homeschooled by his parents, Sam and Kevin Sorbo (actor). In this recent interview in a UK column, Charles Mallett spoke to Sam Sorbo about building resilience through home education.
