A new podcast from broadcaster Roman Kemp and musician Tom Glennan examine their real friendships and the conversations they usually save for group chats.
you? With jokes, hearts to hearts and lots of laughter, it offers unscripted conversations that only true peers can have. The pair delves deep into everything from mental health to fashion fake paths.
“What about you? Does that sound exactly? We're two guys chatting about life,” Roman says. “It's not that planned, but that's what makes it feel authentic.”
Tom adds: “It's a proper opportunity for people to see who we really are, not just our version of you going to stage or on TV.”
The pair became friends after meeting at the gym in 2018 and have been getting closer ever since. Now they bring the same energy to their new podcasts.
Richard Maddock, Commissioning Editor for BBC Radio 5 Live, said:
“Their conversations are authentic, authentic and hilarious… Whether they're talking about music, soccer, gossip, relationships, or their celebrity circles, you never know what they'll say next.”
The series focuses on Rome and Tom's “bromance,” but occasionally cameos from a wide circle of friends.
Commissioned by BBC Radio 5 Live and produced by Insanity Studios. It will be available on BBC Sounds on Tuesday, May 20th, with new episodes being released weekly, plus exclusive bonus episodes available only in BBC Sound.
