Podx Group is set to release two major podcasts later this year, one will be collaborating across borders and one will be local adapting.
The first project, Murder of Allland, is a drama thriller co-produced by British Goldhawk Productions and Finland's Suomen Podcast Media.
It marks the pod's first bilingual podcast, and the episodes are set to be released in both English and Finnish.
The series, written by Satu Rasila, Mikko Kouki and directed by Mikko Kouki, is recorded in a Finland location and distributed by the BBC and Il of Finland.
The second project is a Finnish adaptation of the award-winning British podcast 28 days later, originally produced by Listun.
This adaptation by Suomen Podcastmedia brings the popular BBC Radio 4 format to Finnish audiences, exploring the menstrual cycle in a culturally relevant way.
“This is everything about our game,” said Patrick Svensk, CEO of Podx Group. “We are building a creative ecosystem with stories, formats and talent by connecting great creative minds across the market.”
These releases represent a new phase of Podx, focusing on co-creating content that works across the region, rethinking the successful format of the new market.
The group's model shares talent and intellectual property with the aim of leveraging an international network of studios to expand the reach and commercial potential of the original podcast.
Both the Orlando Murder and the 28 Days Later are scheduled to be released later this year.
