BAFTA-winning adventurer Steve Backshall is working with wildlife biologist Lizzie Daly and environmental journalist Sarah Roberts for a new podcast.
From the fresh air, it's just Wild is a twice-weekly podcast aimed at people who are fascinated by nature.
Lots of laughs come from the amazing stories, wildlife encounters in your seat, and first-hand experiences of three major UK nature experts.
Every Tuesday, the main episode includes survival stories and incredible animal facts, but Friday is reserved for a Q&A format in which the host responds to the listeners' chorusted questions.
The first episode is titled Freeze, and Steve shares fresh stories from his Arctic expedition, including ice diving, animal adaptation to extreme cold, and a close encounter with walrus.
In the Q&A episode, is the team working on questions like Tocopuses aliens? And should the zoo still exist?
Steve Backshall said:
“We all have so much love for nature, and that's about sharing that passion in the most fun and fearless way possible.”
Lizzy Daly added: “Imagine wildlife, science, and funny stories from field expeditions. Everything is mixed into live, funny conversations…that's this podcast. I love bringing science to life.
Sarah Roberts said: “We are wired to share stories. It's the way humans unite. The show uses its instinct to wild encounters, narrow escapes, and adoring facts that help us reunite with the natural world.
“We've got a lot of effort into making our customers a great place to go,” said Neil Cowling, founder of Fresh Air.
“It provides a high-energy positive lens for the wonders of the planet, encouraging, inspiring and delighting wildlife.”
This is Wild, which will be released on June 3rd on YouTube and Tiktok for new episodes every Tuesday and Friday on all podcast platforms, as well as “snackable” clips from Wild.
