Podcast subscription service Podimo has appointed Georgia Brown as its new Chief Content Manager.
Brown will lead the company's global content strategy and oversee the original podcasts, video and digital formats. She will also manage Podimo's newly launched Studios Division.
The Studios unit focuses on creating new revenue streams through licensing, brand partnerships, live events and international growth.
Podimo's previous acquisitions Podads, Tonny Media, and Dag en Nacht Media are currently part of Podimo Studios.
Brown has extensive experience in content production and distribution. As a former head of Amazon Studios in Europe, she helped expand the company's regional operations from a single UK office to a multi-market presence.
While there she delivered hits such as Clarkson's Farm, The Rig, LOL: The Last Laughter. She also holds senior roles at Fremantle, Shine Group and BBC Worldwide.
London-based Brown will join Podimo's leadership team during the expansion. “The future of content is at simultaneous convergence between traditional entertainment and the dynamic and rapidly growing creator economy,” she said. “We're uniquely located to fill that gap.”
Her appointment comes as current Chief Content Officer Sachin Doshi prepares to step down in September. He will continue to be involved with Podimo as a board member and strategic advisor.
Podimo CEO Morten Strunge said the company aims to lead premium storytelling and platform innovation.
“Under Georgia's creative leadership, supported by Podimo's powerful foundation of technology and products, we are positioning ourselves at the forefront of premium storytelling,” he said.
