The APA is back for 15 years and celebrates people from the podcasts, radio, audiobooks and the wider audio industry.
Hosted by Audiouk and sponsored by Audible, APA celebrates outstanding productions both behind the scenes and on the microphone. This year's event promises more awareness, new categories and ongoing commitment to accessibility.
Audiouk CEO Chloe Straw says the award has come a long way since it began as a modest gathering behind the pub and now stands as a major celebration of audio talent at BFI in London, Southbank.
She said: “They celebrate podcasts, including radio and audio books, and the best in the audio industry.
This year's APA features 23 categories that cover everything from comedy, facts and drama to sound design and audiobooks. The popular ear category of children's audio returns to the second year and is reviewed again by the child himself.
Three new categories have been introduced. True crime to reflect the genre's boom. Outstanding audio branding content created for brands. And the Changemaker Awards honor those who have a real impact on audio and the wider community.
For the first time, most categories are open to individual producers, not just producers and teams today, but also individual producers, acknowledging the collaborative nature of today's production.
Entry is open today, Monday, June 16th, and will close at 2pm on Wednesday, September 17th, with no extension. The Early Bird entrance will run for a long period of 10 weeks until Sunday, August 31st. The standard admission fee will then be applied until the deadline.
