BBC Sounds launched a brand new comedy feed called the Comedy Circuit, celebrating the best stand-up from some of the top comedians in the UK.
The feed began with Snappy, a four-part special from stand-up favorite Susie Raffel. News specials are released every month and feature comedy legends such as Romeshlanganatan, Jimmy Car and Salamylican.
The Comedy Circuit brings the talk of live stand-up directly to BBC Sound, the platform's first non-podcast acquisition, marking a major move towards stand-up licensing.
Caroline McEvoy, acquisition producer of BBC Sounds, said: “We are excited to bring our first podcast acquisition to BBC Sound, and we are particularly excited that this innovative feed will feature great acts from across the UK, including the biggest names in comedy.
Julia McKenzie, editor of Radio 4 Comedy & Entertainment, added:
The launch of the Comedy Circuit expands BBC Sounds' growth comedy portfolio. This already includes Radio 4 favorites.
The new stand-up show continues to arrive monthly, bringing the comedy club vibe to viewers across the country.
