The Economist's podcast, Money Talks, will premiere two special episodes exploring how Taylor Swift built one of the biggest brands in music.
The superstar is reportedly worth $1.3 billion, and in the music industry, it takes more than talent alone to amass that kind of wealth — it also takes shrewd business acumen and ruthless strength.
In the first of two special episodes, “Money Talks: Taylor's Version,” hosts Alice Fulwood, Tom Lee Devlin and Mike Bird talk about building Swift's music brand.
Guests appearing in the episode include manager Bob Reeves, who attended one of Swift's first live shows; former Warner Music Group executive Clay Myers, who helped produce one of Swift's early hits; and Bill Weld, former editor-in-chief of Billboard magazine, current director of the Bandier Program at Syracuse University and author of the Full Rate No Cap newsletter.
