Spotify launches a new part of its campaign “Take A Beat'' that includes a heroic film about London rapper and zoologist Louis VI.
It was launched to coincide with World Mental Health Day today.
Spotify says people are turning to the music and audio it offers to support their mental health and well-being.
Considering nature's positive impact on mental health and well-being, Take A Beat aims to bring the soothing sounds of nature to a hub on the platform where users can find a variety of nature sounds.
In the UK, lack of access to nature has the greatest impact on the poorest communities, who are one in 10 less likely to live in the greenest areas. This campaign helps make the soothing sounds of nature more accessible to help people focus on their mental health and wellbeing.
The global campaign includes a heroic film, hubs on the platform, out-of-home advertising, as well as organic and paid social across more than 20 markets, including the UK and US.
As part of the campaign, Spotify will be awarding small grants to local grassroots organizations in the UK working at the intersection of mental health, wellbeing and nature.
Rapper and zoologist Louis VI is known for his climate change activism, which aims to use sound to strengthen our connection to the natural world.
In the film, he takes us on a tour of local nature spots, discovers the soothing sounds of our immediate surroundings, and engages with mental health professionals on the therapeutic theory of nature sounds.
Louis VI said: “Having a strong relationship with nature is extremely important for both our mental health and creativity. I draw inspiration from the natural world. Its rhythms, sounds, and energy are what I use when making music. It is often a source of healing and creativity.”
To introduce you to the soothing sounds of nature, the Take a Beat hub is filled with the best nature sounds available on Spotify, from field recordings to nature-themed albums, guided meditations to inspirational podcasts. All are organized using a science-backed framework.
