Beyond+ is a new podcast from the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation that focuses on the stories of young people living with HIV.
More than 40 years after the HIV pandemic began, Beyond+ explores what lies beyond diagnosis. From adolescence to adulthood, loss to love, graduation to growth beyond the clinic, the stories shared go beyond an HIV diagnosis and what it means to live and grow in today's world of HIV infection. , provides a broader perspective.
Hosted by EGPAF's Chief Storyteller Eric Bond, in the first episode Eric speaks with Aunty Bothy, a trans activist and social media content creator from Lesotho. Aunt Bothy tells her journey from a boy growing up in a rural village in Lesotho, to a young man searching for his identity, to a woman living with HIV, and acts as a voice for LGBTI people.
In Episode 2, Eric speaks with Josephine Nabukenya, a nonprofit founder from Uganda who was born with HIV, and in Episode 3, Eric speaks with Ashley Rose Murphy, a young woman living with HIV in Canada. Masu.
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation was founded by Elizabeth Glaser, who contracted HIV through a blood transfusion while giving birth to her daughter Ariel in 1981.
