The new podcast will be announced by three former presenters from Spirit FM, a Chichester radio station purchased by Bauer in 2020 and rebranded it as the biggest hit radio.
Fuelfer Funhouse has been announced by Milly Luxford and Ian Crouch (now the program controller for V2 Radio in Sussex) and is supported by Peter Phillips.
The biweekly podcast delves into the trials and tribulations of local radio, with a range of guests introducing their stories and telling their time in the industry.
In the first episode, the three hosts shared stories about how they were interested in radio, and eventually began their long careers in broadcasting.
When they first meet, Millie and Crouchy chat about different types of listeners, “Superfans”, and why you talk about why listeners don't send you! They also discuss the reality of working in a small station, along with the pitfalls and highlights they have experienced.
In future episodes, guests including V2 Radio founder and owner Justin Cottel talk about the pandemic, why they want to start Radio Island with the former Isle of Wight, Wessex FM and Spirit FM MD Steve Oats.
Millie, Ian and Peter say they are excited to finally become podcasting.
“We finally found time and are very excited to be able to explore the world of local radio and our professional life, but sometimes it doesn't seem to be professional at all times.
“We loved catching up with our former colleagues and getting them to get their hands on how local radio actually works. We all continue to learn from reminiscing about our experiences.”
Frequency Funhouse is available on Spotify.
