Following the sad passing of Françoise Hardy, BBC Radio 6 Music has re-released the final interview she gave on the station.
In this episode, recorded in 2018, Françoise talks to Amy Lamé about her life, career and her final studio album, Personne d'autre.
Her son, musician Thomas Dutronc, announced the death of his mother, 80, who was born in Paris in 1944, on social media.
Hardy burst onto the music scene in 1962 and became a cultural icon, influencing the likes of Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan. Known for her melancholic ballads, she epitomized the French yeah yeah pop movement, so named in homage to British music.
Her best-known songs include “All the Girls and the Boys (Tous les garçons et les filles)”, “It's Hard to Say Goodbye (Comment te dire adieu)” and “My Friend the Rose (Mon amie la rose)”.
Amy Lamé – BBC Radio 6's collaboration with French legend Françoise Hardy can be heard on BBC Sounds.
