Voting is now open for the Listeners' Choice category, the only UK podcast awards decided by public vote.
Any podcast is eligible, regardless of whether it has been entered in any other categories.
Free and public voting is available on the BPA's website, so podcasters must compete to mobilize their fan bases to vote.
More than 250,000 people voted last year, with true crime podcast RedHanded scoring a trifecta of victories, making 2023 its third consecutive year of victory.
RedHanded presenters Hannah Maguire and Sruthi Bhalla are taking on the role of co-chair judges this year, meaning they are no longer eligible to compete in the category, leaving the possibility of a new name taking the win.
Podcasters are encouraged to remind their listeners about the awards and be prepared to vote. To be eligible, podcasts must be UK-based (or target a primarily UK audience) and available in the Apple Podcasts directory after 1 June 2024. Voting closes on 29 August, and winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in September.
The BPA has designed a set of assets to help podcasters promote voting through social channels, which can be accessed for free here .
The Listener's Choice Award winner will be announced alongside other award winners at a ceremony at Here @ Outernet in London on September 26th. Tickets for the event will go on sale soon.
