A special edition of the BBC Radio 5 Live Boxing Podcast is being recorded in front of a Liverpool crowd and will feature three boxing champions from the city.
This is the next part of Steve Bunce's tour across the UK with his podcast, as he hosts homecoming events for three fighters who have won world titles: Natasha Jonas, Callum Smith and Nick Ball.
In addition to their future plans, the trio will discuss the latest happenings in the boxing world and answer questions from a live audience that is open to the public.
Speaking about the event being held in Liverpool, Steve Bunce said: “There aren't many cities and towns in the UK that celebrate 15 and 16-year-old boxers. Liverpool, along with Belfast, is one of those cities and is the true judge of a city's boxing prowess.”
“In every city there can be exceptions… those maverick men and women who carry the flame. But how deep is that flame? In Liverpool the flame runs very deep… it permeates into the inner city, into communities where there are boxing gyms.”
“We're delighted to be bringing our next event to Liverpool, we think it will spark some great conversation and we hope as many local boxing fans as possible will get involved.”
This is the fifth day of the 5 Live Boxing Tour, which has already taken in Belfast, Cardiff, Cromer and Leeds, with 5 Live celebrating local boxing heroes at each show.
The event will take place at Punch Tarmey's in Liverpool on Wednesday 17th July. Tickets are free and will be distributed on a first come first served basis. You can apply for up to two tickets here.
