Sony Music Entertainment and Campside Media have launched a new season of the acclaimed investigative podcast series “Chameleon: Doctor Miracle.”
The eighth season of The Chameleon focuses on the alkaline diet and its pioneer, Dr. Robert Young. Since the early 2000s, the alkaline diet has gained widespread popularity in the US and Hollywood's backing, purportedly slowing ageing and curing incurable diseases.
Hosted by journalist Larrison Campbell, the series will tell the true stories of cancer patients who joined diets in the hopes of finding a cure, only to end up with worse fates.
The podcast exposes the horror behind Dr Young's alkaline diet and Miracle Ranch, the retreat for patients who undergo his treatment.
Larrison Campbell says, “Doctor Miracle comes at a time when alkaline diets, like alkaline water, are more popular than ever before, but no one seems to realize that it's all based on a lie.”
“Robert Young sold the alkaline diet to the masses, promising it would cure everything from cancer to diabetes to hair loss – a lie that has led to tragic situations.”
This season of Chameleon exposes the true horror behind fad diets and how Dr. Young's diet continues to influence our diet culture today.”
