The prison treatment of a Nottinghamshire child abuse whistleblower has once again resembled something out of a Solzhenitsyn novel – or even worse.
This morning I received the most harrowing letter I have ever read in my life. It came from Melanie Shaw's cell.
UK Column News persists in its report that Melanie Shaw is a political prisoner convicted of undisclosed crimes in a secret hearing.
The clarity of her handwriting and analysis throughout this letter reaffirms to me that she is a clear-minded individual who is open to sarcastic criticism. Psykshka The Thatcher government crushed her spirit and tried to discredit and erase her testimony about child abuse by the Thatcher-era establishment.
Many of the prison “staff” who ignored, ridiculed and abused her in East Midlands prison (including threatening to rape her in her cell) appear to be employees of private companies or have had no proper prison guard training and certainly no sense of prison ethics. Humanity or Intent to follow common law.

Hello, Brian.
I hope you are well.
I am a mess here. I have been locked in a locked cell 24/7 for 4 weeks. I have no toilet paper, I can't wash my hair. My Tourette's syndrome (Neurologic Symptoms) I came back this morning.
Brian, can you help me? I don't know if this letter will even get through. Please. I have nothing to do, no cigarettes, nothing.
It's painful to be treated so badly. I don't know who allowed it or why. I'm not strong. I'm alone and depressed in this cell. Sometimes the staff say something to you. At least in Fosston. (prison) They talk to me and treat me well. There is no mental health support here. I am just locked in a cell forever, like a bear in a Romanian circus. They want me to suffer and become claustrophobic.

Brian, please tell my listeners thank you for the letters. I have the stamps and the paper, but no envelopes. If there's a stamp on the return envelope, I can take it and write a response. I don't need or want money. All I want is to talk to people by letter.
Please help me to stop this abuse. I don't even have pants. It's unbelievable. God knows what they do without telling the other prisoners. I'm scared to sleep so I often put my chair behind the door. Do you understand what I'm saying?
I am totally undeserving of this.
This is not rehabilitation.
I have no diagnosed mental illness and I am normal. (HM Prison Service) The Yorkshire Regional Psychologist has refused to return to the prison to complete his report. Decent people have been traumatised by my abuse and neglect.
