Spotify's Megaphone is releasing new tools to make it easier for publishers to maximise revenue.
These new tools are the latest investments to help publishers deliver even greater value to advertisers and more efficiently manage their podcast businesses.
New features include:
Contextual Targeting: Publishers can offer advertisers the ability to apply campaign targeting and exclusions based on episode-level topics. This feature is available to all Megaphone publishers that opt-in to the Spotify Audience Network at no additional cost.
Segment Edit: This puts publishers in control of their ad breaks. This new segment edit feature within the ad locator helps to remove identified audio segments that contain previously embedded ads and optionally replace them with dynamic ad positions without the need to re-upload the audio files.
Bulk Editing: Publishers can now edit multiple orders within the same screen. Bulk editing allows them to edit various components of a campaign, such as CPM, pacing, targeting, etc., without having to access each individual campaign.
Publishers such as YMH Studios, which manages a network of 10 podcast shows including Your Mom's House, 2 Bears 1 Cave and Bertcast, are already using Megaphone as a hosting, distribution and advertising solution and are seeing strong revenue growth.
“Spotify Audience Network has been an incredibly powerful adjunct in helping us achieve industry-leading fill rates of over 90%,” said Alan Abdine, head of ad revenue at YMH. “It is our most important tool, in addition to direct sales, to maximize the monetization potential of all our shows and inventory.”
