Contender Ready is an all-new, unofficial Gladiators podcast based on the iconic TV show launching this week.
The series is hosted by comedy award-winning comedian Jessica Fostekew and British Olympic medalist and weightlifting champion Emily Campbell.
Jessica brings her jokes, lifelong love of the Gladiator TV series, and passion for all things athletics, while Emily brings her wit, cool, calm collection, understanding of athlete psychology and real-life know-how. When it comes to what's happening physically.
Every week, they watch a new episode of Gladiator and choose their favorite most dramatic moments from comedy, competition, and sports.
They will be joined by guests from the worlds of comedy and sports to gain insight into the latest episodes and hear about their history and connection to the show and athletics in general.
Guests on the series include Josh Widdicombe and Gladiators Celebrity Special contestants Rob Beckett and Ellie Taylor.
Emily Campbell is the most successful British weightlifter of modern times and the greatest British woman of all time. She is a British Commonwealth Champion, a four-time European Champion and a double World Championship and Olympic medalist. She also has inside knowledge from having competed in events throughout her career with half of the Gladiators team.
Jessica Fostecuh is one of Britain's most famous and popular comedians. She has appeared in QI, Live at the Apollo and Travel Man, and has taken the Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated show Hench to the BBC R4 comedy series Sturdy Girl.・Revised to “Club.'' Contender Ready will run two special episodes recapping Gladiator series 1 and covering recent Gladiator celebrity specials on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th January, ahead of the series 2 TV series starting on Saturday 18th January. Start.
