Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of the world's population has had their lives disrupted and is in fear. Amid the gloomy situation that surrounds us, the accelerating pace of world events, and the constant flood of information, Jane reminds us of the importance of taking time for ourselves, slowing down a little, and enjoying the unseen things around us. In today's hectic world, many people say they don't have time to learn new things, but Jane can't imagine it. do not have It's about making time for yourself and your family.
To harvest your own herbs and plants, you don't need much except a keen eye and a heart full of love. What better way to cheer everyone up than a leisurely stroll on a sunny day with a basket, garden clippers and gloves? There is no age limit to learning about herbs and how they can benefit your daily life. Practitioners often learned from their parents or grandparents, and recipes are passed down through generations. Herbs are a fun family activity. Bring your kids and grandkids along. Not only will they learn what's good for them, but they'll enjoy a treasure hunt with a difference. How many kids can say they picked their dinner ingredients from the wild? And how many of them will bring along a fishing net?
Herbal medicines are more than tinctures, lotions and potions in quirky bottles with handwritten labels. They are often the fruit of a lifetime of knowledge, long formal training and a labor of love. Jane explains the importance of respecting what you grow and pick, taking only what you need and being grateful for nature's bounty. Some herbal preparations take months to prepare and require patience, but others are ready to use when you need them.
Jane shares a simple recipe for an invigorating spring tonic to help keep your immune system healthy. Herbal remedies don't have to be complicated – it can be as simple as adding a few sprigs of dandelion and nettle to a delicious summer salad – the benefits are enormous.
