Mother-daughter duo Andy and Mikita Oliver are leaving their kitchen table behind and hitting the road for Season 5 of their podcast, Stirring It Up.
Best known for their conversations about food, culture and the human experience, the new series sees them embark on a cultural journey across Scotland to reunite with family, catch up with old friends and make new ones along the way. I am.
Mikita, who is half-Scottish, learns more about her heritage and joins Andy on this new journey.
In the first episode, Mikita is reunited with her Scottish father Robin and visits the Gordon Nicholson kilt maker store in Edinburgh to find out more about the influence of her family's tartans and kilts on today's fashion.
Andy also learns about his history as he visits John Knox House, the oldest original building on the Royal Mile, where the story of Scotland's most important musical instrument is preserved. The two plan to interact with locals through their love of food and drink. They meet up with Roberta Hall of Great British Menu at her restaurant, The Little Chatroom, for a family dinner. We also take a trip to Aberdeenshire Highland Beef to learn about Scotland's premium produce.
There's also a visit to the famous Loch Ness, home to Great Glen Distillery, Scotland's smallest craft distillery.
Meet some of Scotland's leading female entrepreneurs who have contributed to Scotland's prosperity, including Laura Montgomerie, founder of women's football club Glasgow City FC, independent team champion for women and equality, and fashion designer Siobhan McKenzie. In addition, classic tartan is brought to life in kilts, tailoring, accessories and more.
