On 10 April 2024, NHS England published an independent report. Cass reviewThe final report examined NHS medical interventions for gender dysphoria provided to children and young people. These services include puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, castration, mastectomies, and more. Dr Hilary Cass and her team were unable to support 'positive gender care' through their findings. As a result of the review, NHS England stopped prescribing puberty-suppressing drugs to children under 18, and the report attracted international attention.

Dr Cunningham is a former community paediatrician who worked in Glasgow for 30 years. She has particular experience in neurodevelopmental and autism diagnostic evaluations.
