The latest available data shows that the government's Vaccine Damage Compensation Scheme (VDPS) has paid compensation to only 1.2% of claimants. Around 2,000 claims are still being processed in the NHS administration system, with many claimants waiting for more than 18 months in some cases. In addition, more than 400 claims have been made on behalf of people who have died since 23 November 2021, when NHS Business Services took over the scheme.
